3 Ways To Beat The Applicant Tracking Systems
Campus career centers are designed to help students and alumni in their job search needs. Although CV advice and mock interviews are great, you also need to work on teaching students how to navigate new technology to get jobs.
With the increase of new technologies on job search, it is crucial that students understand how to use it to their advantage. There are many different places where technology can play in the job search of a student - but by far one of the most difficult to get a handle on the system asks the employer to follow.
Although you can not really teach the student how to use it for yourself, you can teach students to "beat" the system. Here are three useful ways:
First Understand the job description.
When applying for a job, students need to be sure to read and reread the job description to fully understand what the employer needs and desires, and to ensure they meet the requirements. After reading the job description thoroughly, they can return to the keywords to include in their CV.
2. Customize each CV.
Students need to use keywords in the job description and incorporate them into your resume to measure. Make them as personalized as possible CV for each job will help draw attention to the applicant tracking systems, hoping to get an interview with them their entrepreneurial dream.
Third Build and maintain their networks.
If the student has the right contacts, they may completely ignore the applicant tracking systems altogether. Knowing that someone can come will continue to be sent to HR, rather than go through the applicant tracking system. While still in school, students must follow the professional and personal combining sites on LinkedIn.
